# Notices

CouchRelay is licensed under the PolyForm Strict License 1.0.0 (`LICENSE.md`). In short: you
may use it for free for noncommercial purposes, but you may not change it or give copies to
others. For any other use, ask the licensor for permission.

## Third-party software

CouchRelay ships software written by others (listed, with their licences, in
`THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt` and on the Licences screen). Each of those components stays under its
own licence; the PolyForm Strict License does not apply to them.

## Libraries under the GNU Lesser General Public License

Some components use the GNU Lesser General Public License (the FFmpeg libraries and
`@decky/api` in the Decky plugin). Their full licences and corresponding source are identified
in `licences/SOURCES.txt` and `licences/THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt`.

Notwithstanding any conflicting terms of CouchRelay's licence, you may modify the combined
work for your own use, replace its LGPL libraries with interface-compatible modified versions,
and relink or recombine the work with those libraries, as required by LGPL 2.1 section 6.
Reverse engineering for debugging those modifications is permitted. No signature or update
verification is required to load a locally replaced, interface-compatible LGPL library.
These permissions do not restrict your independent rights to copy, modify or redistribute
the third-party components under their own licences.

The build recipes and library-relinking tools explicitly supplied in the third-party source
kit are additionally available under the MIT licence included in that kit. That permission
applies to those tools, not to CouchRelay's application source code.
